I don't even get any indication of the ticketrtape being blind and it would
be hard to actually hear a spoken version over the sound in any case. I do agree that bbc seems to have no policy on what is important these days, its seemingly arbitary and decided at the time with a pin.... Brian -- From the Sofa of Brian Gaff Reply address is active wrote in message ... ...to knock the BBC, I'm getting increasingly annoyed at the way the 'News' is used to promote their own programmes. Yesterday at 5pm I was watching the BBC News Channel as they covered the most important events of the day. And these we 1. Mandela's funeral. 2. Hospital consultants to be on duty 7 days 3. Rehearsals for SPOTY. Not the results, or even an excerpt from the programme itself which of course was still a few hours away, but the rehearsals - so we could be told at length how great the programme (with its pre-ordained winner) was going to be. This apparently was more significant than anything else happening in the world. Other events, such as the bombs going off in Iraq, were relegated to headlines in the tickertape at the foot of the screen. Dear Auntie - promotions for your 'celeb' programmes are NOT news! |

Yes though i hate to admit it, Sky News seems to be more suitable if you
really want news. Brian -- From the Sofa of Brian Gaff Reply address is active "Alan White" wrote in message ...
