Hello,
I have a 53" RCA Scenium HDTV, and have a couple of questions about power consumption and tube life. This model of TV has an integrated DVD player, as well as an on-board power amp. The sound quality seems excellent, so I've been using this set as my primary stereo, playing CD's in the disc player and music from my PC. My question is this: When I'm listening to music on my set without an video programming, am I consuming the same amount of power as when I'm viewing video material? Over a period of time, will I be shortening the life of my TV significantly by using it this way? The set has a "screen saver" function that kicks in after a couple of minutes. Similiarly, I have my PC connected to the DVI input. When I am listening to PC audio with the TV in DVI mode, am I using more power and shortening the life of my TV? Note: I typically have the DVI output from the PC turned off (Windows is told not to extend desktop to second monitor, and only the audio input to the TV is active) Thanks for your help! |
