Plenty of people have told the Leveson inquiry there is such a thing
as bad publicity.

Actually, he was pointing out that the selfish actions of a single
person causes delays and inconvenience to thousands of people, not to
mention the poor buggers that have to clear up the mess and the effect
on the train driver.

He complained that the trains stopped. He thought he was being
amusing.

anyone who commits suicide by jumping in front of a train should be shot

As it happens no, I think it was a stupid thing to say. But he said it,
and it would be better if those of us who didn't see the programme could
be allowed to make our own minds up, rather than have the BBC make our
minds up for us.

I think it's most unlikely that he meant what he said. It was, in fact,
a joke, albeit a poor and insensitive one. But it's wrong of the BBC to
censor it.

I don't think they have censored it. The clip was shown on HIGNFY
about an hour ago.

A convenient concept for this sort of discussion. Basically, who
decides what I am allowed to hear? Me, or someone else?

Obviously it has to be someone else. By the time you can decide, you'll
have heard it and it will be too late.

I don't think that he actually believes much of what he says, but that is no
excuse for him saying what he says. IMHO his "humour" is infantile.

And hopefully not forgotten it by now.

Repetition aids the memory.

I have no idea, as I don't have HD reception.

See, now you know what you are missing out on --
wrinkles and blemishes on actors and presenters
when the makeup departments is unable to perform
miracles

Still no satellite dish then?

No plans for HD in any form, unless you would like to supply it, at no
charge.
I see you are happy to continue to contribute to the thread,
despite your remarks implying that I should not have posted it here in
the first place. There are quite a few contributors, I see.

Not since 1961

and more significantly illegal to assist in the act.

That's true, from the same Act
