Hi
I have a HTPC that I built and use for all things entertainment. It has a Blackgold TV card with 2 x analogue 2 x digital and 2 x Freesat tuners. Yesterday I noticed that I could not receive channels from Freesat so I re-scanned for channels and Windows Media Center informed me that it could only see analogue and digital channels. Both of the coax cables from my dish are connected to my tuner card and nothing is showing up in Windows device manager. How can I tell if the dish LNB is faulty (not sending signals) or the Freesat tuners on the card are shot? I don't have a Sky box to test for signals. The tuner card has worked fine up till now and I have been able to receive BBC and ITV HD which I miss. |

If there are no volts then you wont get a signal back from the LNB. The voltage changes to switch polarity. Other than that I think you will need to resort to some spare equipment. -- Michael Chare |

Dual LNB has some common components, but you wouldn't expect both to fail. I would try other software than WMC. There's plenty of free DVB software available for download. |
