it does on my Foxsat HDR. In the thread I started in here on subject on 13/7, there was a suggeston that it only worked if Dolby was set 'off'' (but that didn't solve the problem for me). Do you have Dolby 'off'? Menu TV Settings Dolby Digital Off However, when I Googled the problem, I read many statements that there was no way the STB could control volume on an HDMI connection. I have therefore resorted to using the TV volume control (rather than fiddle with the STB's TV mapping). I emailed Humax, but had no reply (though they did reply - in detail - w.r.t. a twin tuner question). Will try again! -- /\/\aurice (Replace "nomail.afraid" by "bcs" to reply by email) |

... How much was it, and where did you get it from? I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm absolutely hopeless when it comes to deferred gratification, so I bought it for the launch price (£329) directly from Humax. Delivery was extremely quick. I'm sure if you wait, it'll be available for a little under £300. http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/product.asp?ProdRef=10095 SteveT |

It could be down to the cable, I get all my AV cables from here, ebay, http://tinyurl.com/PeelPlus or the TV, mine is a LG model 32LG5020. -- Ian |

If either the STB or the TV cuts corners and doesn't bother implementing CEC, then the commands can't be sent. I came up against that when I found the Sony Bravia wouild not autoswitch to the STB (Humax Foxsat) when the latter came on. Sony replied that the Bravia would not if the STB didn't implement CEC, and - when I put that to them - Humax failed to respond. Perhaps this time it's the Bravia that didn't implement CEC - for volume control. Will email them. Anyone here with a Sony Bravia (what mode?) and Humax Foxsat (& Dolby on) and the Foxsat's remore volume control *does* work on HD? -- /\/\aurice (Replace "nomail.afraid" by "bcs" to reply by email) |
