Is the government organising a digital scrappage scheme?

If not, why not?

I'd go for a government scrappage scheme.

We scrapped the government earlier this year. Look what we got in
exchange - another government!

Yes and in view of the results all the
anti-Labour/anti-FauXLaboUr/anti-GordonBrown
whiners should be happy.

The lib-dems are backstabbers - they may even destroy the thieving toraidhe
from within.

In some ways I think Cameron is closer to the Liberal Democrats than
the more dogmatic right wing of his own party viz Norman Tebbit
described Cameron as being the Pol Pot of the Conservative and
Unionist Party.

If history is to act as a warning, it is the Liberal Democrats
who must be most careful. After their last coalition with the
Conservative and Unionist Party they split into two factions
the Coalition Liberals and the National Liberals.

So the big question is, will Clegg be sending out coupons to
carfully selected Liberal Democrat candidates in April 2015?

Not all were created equal!! My DHD4000 worked fine post DSO. It
seems from other users' experience that a replaced PSU fixed issues
with the change of QAM, as seemingly the post-DSO setup required
slightly more power to process. I can't comment if that's true or
not, but mine has a replaced PSU and continues to work flawlessly.
Well, until 7th July....

My 37th wedding anniversary ...

.... is there something I should be aware of ...?

Its just a shame that Thomson (and the other device manufacturers)
didn't build a firmware which allowed for use of the Freeview EPG in
the event of the InView one being withdrawn. *I think there was a view
at one time that the InView EPG would be capable of inserting ads,
which (whilst not appealing) would at least have made the service
potentially commercially viable.

No appealing, I think more like appalling. I believe some Panasonic TVs,
not PVRs but actual TVs, advertise at you in their built-in EPG like this..
It's astonishing what the UK public will accept.

Disagree slightly - no-one complains that the Radio Times includes
adverts, and if a service is being provided there usually has to be
some mechanism for paying for it. In Thomson/InView's case they were
providing a service free to end users, so having some banner ads would
have been reasonable. Different for Panasonic though - they are
supplying TVs which *could* have a free EPG, but choose to ply one
with adverts - that smacks of greed rather than necessary cost
recovery!
