"Java Jive" wrote You are aware I hope that it's not a good idea to put an LNB from a Sky-type minidish (wider than tall) into a 'conventional' offset dish (slightly taller than wide). *The LNBs may look similar on the outside, but internally the feeds are a different shape, matched to the shape of the dish. Seehttp://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/lnb.htm Thanks Java The dish shape I have been given is the same as the one I have already, so I'm hoping it will be a straight LNB swap. Phil It is just a push fit (once any plastic pins are out) but they can be very tight, especially if the arm on the dish is the larger size one (about 20 x 30mm). Grip it very firmly as near to the arm as possible and gradually work it from side to side whilst pulling. It will move eventually but there is the chance of breaking the plastic stem. If the dish is to be a complete write-off anyway, and it is that tight, I would cut the arm about 3 inches from its end and then cut it diagolally along its length with a junior hacksaw, avoiding cutting much into the plastic stem of the LNB. The arm is very thin and easily cut. |
