Default KWorld DVBS-FTA Digital Satelite Freeview Card

I have installed a KWorld DVBS-FTA Digital Satelite Freeview Card in a
friend's computer but I am having a few problems and some missing channels.

Operating System is Windows 7 ultimate.

Should she be able to get QVC and CBSReality and CBSAction?

These are the ones I have noticed missing so far.

Also someone said she should get BBC HD. Although it is listed she just gets
a blank screen.

Also it won't work with Windows 7 Media player. All the channels are there
but they don't play. Just a black screen and no sound.

Well I have to give up and go home now but I will try again tomorrow.

David

No, but that thread gave her the idea to get a sat card for her computer and
get me to fit it.

If this is a satellite card then you can probably get any SD FTA digital
channel so long as you scan the appropriate transponder, and the dish and
LNB are working correctly. (Freeview is a Terrestrial)

If you want HD then you need an S2 card, e.g. Hauppauge DVB-S2 card.

W7 Media Player has all the drivers and codecs needed for HD sound and
vision for this card.

DvbViewer is quite popular.

Although I'm using a bog standard £23.00 K-world DVB-S card in conjunction
with Windows7 Media Centre and have no problems receiving BBC HD.

CBS Reality and Action are carried on Eurobird 1, which may require a
separate scan to the Astra channels. The signals from some of the
Eurobird transponders are also relatively weak.

You should be able to get QVC though, and the fact that you don't may be
connected with your earlier request for the low oscillator frequency,
when you need to set both low and high LNB frequencies to get the full
range of channels.

For your LNB configuration, make sure that the "universal" type is
selected, and that the low and high frequencies are both correct.
I suspect that the high OSC frequency is currently greyed out...

The CBS channels are 135, 136 and 137.

The signal shows here as 10% lower than BBC.
