The biggest contradiction of terms has to be 'Recorded live'

well, usually it means n front of an audience, doesn't it?

It's a bit more than that. The show is performed without a break.

American comdey series such a Friends" are recorded with a studio
audience but apparently they have the script writers in the studio so
that if a joke does not get a big enough laugh from the audience there
is an instant rewrite and the dialogue is rerecorded with the actors
using the modified script.
