As in the subject, at what time does tomorrow's digital re-tune /
programme re-shuffle take place? On my STB, I've looked at the
programme guide for several channels, and there is no sign of any
break in service (even for a couple of minutes).

Channel 5 Mendip is missing.

Mine's vanished too on the Brierley Hill relay

And isn't there after a retune - no great loss :0)

Also not available from Crystal Palace - nor is ITV3. No early lunch
break then!

Maybe the engineers have been slaving all night, preparing to throw the
big changeover switch, and it is a late breakfast?

Well, no, because although it's vanished from Mux A, it's yet to be added
to Mux 2 (its new home).

As I've said, retuning during the transition period will result in all
sorts of anomolies, you need to wait until later. I'm doing mine this
evening, after the dust has fully settled.

I've now got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 33, 40, 89, 100, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107,
108, 6, 7, 9, 10 in that order.....

I think another rescan may be needed in a while.

My Humax did something like that as well. I gave up and deleted all the
channels, which of course deleted all my timer recordings for me, and
started again from scratch, being careful to unplug/plug in the aerial at
the right millisecond to avoid the garbage from out of area transmitters
which seem to take priority over the proper one.
Then I had to filter out all the garbage channels.
Repeat for other 2 boxes.

What a joyous way to spend your afternoon. I'm sure I'll be on technical
support duty this evening as well.

I had everything from 6 to 22 missing (three times).

I had to do a reset to factor defaults to get it to work, and now I have to
put all my recordings back in - except I can't because the EPG isn't
updating beyond "now and next" on the channel being viewed.

What a pile of poo!

Who's idea was this? How many more times do we have to endure it?

Yes, and those of us who have disabled the MHEG engines in their DTT
receivers.

How might this most-welcome improvement be achieved?
Do tell! :-)

The Daewoo SV900 Freeview VCR has this feature.

Unfortunately it cannot handle a split NIT. Mine hasn't been retuned
since before the NIT was split. I look forward to seeing what channels
it can handle later today without a retune.

What you *won't* get will be Five, ITV3, ITV2, ITV2+1. And any other new
ones you haven't scanned for recently, like Quest (which still hasn't sorted
out its EPG).

If that happens with the Humax, all you have to do is go into standby and
out again to re-order the channels.

In general, you just need to delete Five, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1 and Big Deal,
and anything in the 800s, then Menu-Installation-Enter PIN
(0000)-Automatic search.

Then check that all the channels are there (against
http://www.unsatisfactorysoftware.co.uk/dtt/ ).

(ITV2+1 is shown as ITV for some reason - I expect they will correct that.)

I had something similar on one STB (long after the transmitters had been
changed). I did a second re-tune, but still had a couple of channels
askew. A re-boot fixed it.

All five of the STBs and one TV set seem to be OK, except for an old
Nokia which I fully expected not to work properly afterwards. This has
two channels on the wrong numbers (even after three re-scans).

Also, my internet was completely down from 1pm to 8.45pm. I wonder if it
was totally overloaded with people trying to access help websites?
