It's a Panasonic TX-28DT2. Can't remember when a rescan was last done,
it's manual, not automatic, but will do one next Saturday when I next
see her to show how it's done.

Unless my eyes deceive me that model is not on the list.

Peter Crosland

It looks like it is on the list of TVs which will stop working when
digital
switchover arrives in an area - Coverage issues/Why has my Freeview
equipment stopped working?.
If so then it will probably be OK after the 30th September changes, but
not
when switchover finally arrives in the area.

Please could you post the URL for this list?

http://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview/R...topped-working

The link is about a third of the way down the page.

You could be right. I've just had a look again at the Freeview

On Sept 30th the COM muxes at Redruth and Huntshaw Cross switch from low power
2k to high power 8k, despite the fact that the high power PSB services at 8k
have been running for some weeks at those two sites. It could be a reference
to that, although viewers in those areas would already be without all the PSB
services if they have 2k only kit.

There used to be a list of 2k only equipment he-

But it's now a broken link.

Quite frankly the information from Freeview and Digital UK is a total shambles
of dumbed down, and/or not up to date, and/or poorly written, and/or downright
misleading information.

I wonder who really does know what's going on, and why this can't be presented
in two forms.

Technical information, for those of us who are technical.

Layman's terms for the rest of the public.

Thanks for that David. This was the page I found a link on.

From what I've read about this, the main changes relate to Ch5 and
some minor changes to other channels.
Since she only watches BBC1/2 and ITV1, I don't see the point of
re-tuning if these channels are not affected, but if she does re-tune,
it buggers her TV. As she says, why should she have to buy a new TV
when the one she's got works perfectly now.

What's the model of TV, and when did it last perform a rescan ?

did a rescan today because of breakup on BBC 1 Wales, now there is no ITV1
Wales or S4C and still have break up on BBC1.
Panasonic 32in viera, living in Torfaen area, (South Wales)
Freeview + pvr using same aerial input is unaffected .

tv is showing 5/10, pvr showing 7/10.I don't think it's the pass through
causing problems, but I can easily check that.I was wondering if it's the
TV tuner,Ive tried updating the software, but its on the latest now.

Very rare do I use the TV on its own tuner, except for analogue ceefax, I
usually use sky or the pvr via the scarts. It's about 4 years old now, so
whether its not as sensitive as newer models I don't know..

Looks like my 3 OnDigital Philips DTR6370 boxes will die on that day - I use
them every day - mainly for radio now.
