If they dropped an H Bomb on Yorkshire it wouldn't make the Times. I think it would be reported thus. Small explosion in Yorkshire. Not many dead. It would be Very little home counties damage in Yorkshire H bomb incident. Approx £5 damage. Bill |

Bill Are you by any chance, on holiday in Scotland at this time? :-) No, I thought of that. I looked out of the window and checked. Bill If you have satellite TV you can watch STV anyway and save buying a another paper, although obviously I would recommend Granada TV to a Yorkshireman (it's free in case you were worried). |

I thought all the national papers were printed relatively ( 50 miles) locally these days ? However the same principle applies, the local printing press was probably sent the wrong version. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

Yes but the problem was that the some of the programmes must have been local variations as they did not correspond with the programmes on STV. There was some programme called 'The Bill' listed but it was not shown. |

There was, however, Earthquake in Chile Nearly 200 deaths (3rd December 1928) which compares with Big earthquake in Chile 10,000 reported dead (26th January 1939) and then 149 dead in Chile earthquake (23rd May 1960) Didn't the Times once have the headline Sorm in the Channel: continent cut off? No matches. |
