Unless I'm mistaken not all the races are filmed in HD.

"Filmed" meansd the use of film. TV cameras do not use film - whatever
jounalists think. This is a tecnical newsgroup.

It's not something I watch but think it's bandwidth it needs rather than
HD, fast moving subject material, loads of randomness in the picture if
someone goes into a gravel trap, it calls out for high bandwidth. If it
was broadcast in HD without a huge bandwidth increase, my guess is it
would look worse than SD.

The use of the word "filmed" has been extended to include the use of
electronic cameras.

If we are being pernickety I think you meant "journalist" and
"technical". :-)

Aren't some films (movies) now shot with high definition video cameras?

Except, last year the HD Centre Court coverage was provided by Arena Mobiles
(ex LWT OB dept).

Of course this year the majority of the OB work at Wimbledon was done by SiS
Mobiles, who the Beeb sold most of their TV OB plant to last year.

FFS , it's perfectly obvious what I meant.
If you want to start nitpicking , what's "meansd" or "tecnical"?
