I'd say if it came from Bill's imagination he could make a much better
living as a fiction author...

Really, these things are often in the 'you couldn't make it up' category. I
never fail to be amazed at the ingenuity the human mind displays in forming
and then justifying a misapprehension. That woman was utterly certain that
the TV picture came up the mains cable. And why not? The evidence was there.
Unplug the mains and the picture goes off!

I wonder if some TV man had pulled her leg many years ago.

*Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film*

Funnily enough my uncle, who has boasted terribly all his life about having
a 'photographic memory' has become a little bit forgetful now he's nearly
80. He still comes out with the boast though, moving his girl friend to
whisper caustically the other day, "Trouble is he forgets to put the film
in!"

Thank you. Are you one of the Thickos of Nottinghamshire by any chance? My
great aunt married into those Thickos, and the union was blessed with no
less than eleven little Thickos. Several of these ran out in front of trams
or fell into the canal, alas, but some of the others rose to prominence. You
might have heard of Lord Absolute Thicko of Dimton, who was elevated to the
peerage for his sterling work in organising the British invasion of Suez.

Network congestion? What ****ing planet are you on?
Here's a tip if these stories bother you so much, highlight the
"story" click Message/Block sender. Voila.

Ha ha, indeed!

Excellent stuff Bill! I'm left somewhat flabbergasted and just a
little saddened about how much of a crutch television appears to be to
some folk. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised really.

You naively assume everyone uses the same news client as you. Obviously
that is not the case, so your reply is mostly pointless.

looking at the headers, CD is using Agent and you don't have Block
Sender in that. IIRC Block Sender is in OE which Clive is using, so
who's post is pointless? :-P
