They try it on because lots of people don't know enough about computers
and they get taken in. It's just another little con.

There's an outfit ringing round at the moment, introducing themselves as
'CIS'. Now 'CIS' is an Inland Revenue thing that the self-employed have to
take notice of, so calling themselves that is a con. There's another one
that rings up and says that they are 'The Halifax', but they're nothing to
do with HBS. And don't get me started on the way the disabled are conned
when they need a battery for their mobility device.

What the feck has any of that to do with you using at least double the space
needlessly on newsservers by using HTML?
You brain dead moron

Moving on from all the amusing bickering, what are these SD Freesat boxes
like compared to a Sky (Freesat from Sky) installation with regards to an
old age pensioner. I've got an old boy who hasn't got a hope in hell of
getting a decent aerial signal, so either Freesat (SD box) or the Sky free
offering would be the only choice, but which one is the easiest to
nagivate / use etc. I don't like the Sky vibe where he would have to
trundle through lots of unavailable channels to get ones he can see, so in
that sense Freesat might be a better choice? I don't think he's too
bothered about channel line up, although he might quite like channel 5
which isnt on Freesat at the moment.

Any ideas which would be easiest for him? I;ve not seen a Freesat box /
EPG so cant make the decision.

I'd go for non-Sky Freesat every time. No C5 though for a while.

Buy a couple of FreesatfromSky cards
Get C5 and Fox News, well there's a downside to everything.

While I would say that the £75 Sky-deal (from Argos etc.) which includes
STB, installation and 4 months of 4-Mix Sky TV is unbeatable!

An installation for a elderly person would be better with Freesat because
there isn't all that taradiddle if the thing has been unplugged from the
mains, and the replacement cost of the box is much less.

Also, I had one old guy who took the card out 'for safekeeping' and lost it!

Good deal, i would then replace the dish with a more rain attenuation
proof region 2 dish (or bigger) with a quad LNB to feed extra STBs

No? Used to, I haven't had a Freesatfromsky card for a year now

So that's a bonus then, no Fox news anymore, who says Sky's all bad

Yes although I wouldn't like to inflict the lottery of Sky subcontractors on
him. He might end up with something like this.

Yes quite. Perhaps at some point some of the perfect posters in this thread
might like to tell us what it's like to have gone though life with a halo over
their head, and without ever making a single mistake ever.
