No, the thing to do is to point the problem out in case the sender has
a Trojan that has altered the default settings so that it can output
HTML and thus hide a virus or what ever.

Yes Jerry you must be right... obviously anyone posting a comment to
safeguard Bill against this possibility will have checked several of his
messages and had a quick look at the raw text of the messages in
question to verify the presence of something nefarious (since obviously
this is the safest way to view it if there is doubt as to the content)
before alerting him by email.

(Of course you have to allow for the possibility that some complete
plunkers will just mouth off without having done that, but I am sure
there are none like that in this group)

You did something different in that article that caused it to have an
HTML copy attached to it. This is a pointless waste of bandwidth,

I think this sort of comment about wasting bandwidth dates back to
around 1995 when we were all (well those of us online back then) were
using 14.4k dial up modems (28.8 = luxury, my 14.4 cost me £90 back
then).
I now pay Rupert £5 a month for 8Mb on top of my Sky sub so this
bandwidth wasting talk is nonsense. IMO.

I don't think it caused any harm. The original message was just quite
politely (IMO)pointing out the error.
I think on this occasion, an 'I'm sorry if I caused offence, it was not
deliberate' might have been more appropriate than the rather rude 'I don't
care'.

Anyway, enough said, eh?. All this bickering over a simple error has wasted
FAR more bandwidth than the original mistake!! :-)

Moving on from all the amusing bickering, what are these SD Freesat boxes
like compared to a Sky (Freesat from Sky) installation with regards to an
old age pensioner. I've got an old boy who hasn't got a hope in hell of
getting a decent aerial signal, so either Freesat (SD box) or the Sky free
offering would be the only choice, but which one is the easiest to nagivate
/ use etc. I don't like the Sky vibe where he would have to trundle through
lots of unavailable channels to get ones he can see, so in that sense
Freesat might be a better choice? I don't think he's too bothered about
channel line up, although he might quite like channel 5 which isnt on
Freesat at the moment.

Any ideas which would be easiest for him? I;ve not seen a Freesat box / EPG
so cant make the decision.
