So consulting those directly involved in an industry is a bad thing?
Strange. Only the other day that nice Mr Cameron was on about doctors in
the NHS not being consulted/in favour of something or other.

No problems with consulting.

However in the 70s with the Wilson government, they were co-running the
country, hence 'beer and sandwiches at No 10" - all wrong.

Wilson warning the Unions "get your tanks off my lawn" - to little effect.
They were dark times.

Thatcher blew all that away. However the 101 things she did wrong (Council
tax, Reagan, mass privatisation, social destruction, etc etc.) need to be
offset with the thing she did right - take on the Unions.

Yep she wasn't a saint, but she was a leader rightly or wrongly
depending on where your template was formed..

But she did lead unlike this current Grey/Brown man;(...

Blimey!, it taken you that long to state that?..

No, but not being near a connection for a few days stops sending it
precisely when it was written.

OK..

So why has no one else started mining then in those areas?..

Because it is deemed acceptable to ship coal halfway round the world
from vastly destructive strip mine operations in Australia, or pipe
gas from 'friendly' nations like Russia, or ship in LPG from
'friendly' nations like Libya or Algeria than be responsible for our
own energy needs. The free market unfortunately will ultimately
decide that our lights *will* go out in the future.

Well if it does come to the stage where we will have to start mining
again at a greatly increased cost then so be it. Suspect it will be the
Poles down the mins though..

But should we be paying over the odds for more expensive coal when it
can be bought cheaper elsewhere?. Do you buy the most expensive product
when theres one cheaper?..

We might well be sitting on 200-500 years worth of coal, but a few
very short term decisions made for all the wrong reasons by that
raving lunatic Thatcher condemned the UK to be in the hands of
foreigners for our basic energy needs for generations to come.

So why aren't they mining it now then?. Or is it OK to keep people
employed in subsided work?..

No, the operation at Hatfield is subsidy free as has the entire coal
industry for many years, that's why we're in the f*cking mess we are
now with security of supply with next to bugger all gas (having burnt
many decades worth in the 90's for electricity generation) and the
same with our own oil, nuclear rapidly running down and some
environmentalist f*ckwits banging on about our carbon footprint.

So what would you suggest, do you buy the carbon theory or not?..

Everything - and by that I mean absolutely everything that is wrong
today with our security of energy supply and depleted gas reserves can
be traced back to the hopelessly inept policies of Thatcher and Major.
It took Blair around 9 years before he woke up to the problem yet
every one of these leaders had been informed of the problems they were
creating or sitting on numerous times, yet all chose to ignore the
warnings.

Thatcher really should have hung for treason long ago.

If she should then there were a lot of others;!..

Talking of Tony Bliar, if you want to know what he would sound like if
he ever had a singing career, go dig on You-Tube, search for Shayan
Italia, and listen to his track called 'Soul.' The voice doesn't start
until 38 secs.

Thanks to Steve Wright In The Afternoon for that one.

I've had in years, not just on the kit and its prices but also the bold
statements that he makes that are just a farce.

I often wonder just how many of his mailing list customers do this
with no intention ever in a million years of buying one of their
overpriced, over hyped items.

Buit you HAVE to assume someone must be buying the crap off him - he's
still in business!!

Maybe he gets a fat subsidy from the EEC. After all as a producer of prime
bull**** they must find him impressive.

Although no one sounds interested, here's the pic of my bruv and Tony
Blair at a Pontins drinking competition in Blackpool. My bruv's that
big bloke & Tony is on the right.

Your bruv not qutre mastered drinking and the best way to get it down
the throat then? :-)

You only put the glass/can on your head once you've finished! That's
when Tony stops his stopwatch. Notice it's only a small can of light
ale. That was all you could get in those days. That and Double
Diamond or Watneys Red Barrel.

There's only one person on the picture, apart from the bird.

If that was a bird, it's a bloody ugly one. He's got Tony Blair's
mouth.

Marky, there was only one man on that picture. He was pouring beer over his
own head. There was a woman at the very edge of the picture. There was
no-one else.

I think he may be referring to the partial woman.
Actually I think the caption should read:
[Woman] "No mate, you've got to keep the string tight, then talk into the
can"

Oh dear. Read the context in which she said that. It was in an
interview with Woman's Own magazine. Google will find the full text
for you. The above common, out of context, misquote is easily used
to dupe the great unwashed.

In or out of context she did say it, and then proceeded to put it into
action.

I wash regularly.
