Firstly there is no such beast as a "digital tv aerial". I suspect that you are getting your signals from Sandy Heath (BBC East & Anglia ITV). If so, the multiplex (group of services) that carries Radio 5 is out of the range of your old aerial. You will need to fit a new aerial for the complete range of digital channels. "Andrew 2006" wrote in message ups.com... Hi there, Have recently got a Sony Bravia LCD television with built in DVB. It has an auto tuning option which searches for all available digital tv and radio stations. However it's only found digital radio stations for Radio 1 to Radio 4, and is missing Radio 5 and six music. My portable DAB radio is able to find radio 5, so the signal is definitely available in my area. Any ideas why the digital tv can't find radio 5? Many thanks Andrew You need a better or even new TV aerial and coax. As for the radio, completely different frequencies and locations for the transmitters. You can't compare the two. |

Sandy Heath is your transmitter then. Mux B is on UHF Ch 67. Your aerial will be a Group A. That runs out of steam above UHF Ch 34, and will be useless at 67. You need to upgrade your aerial to a Wideband, this will respond to the full range of UHF channels, and therefore all six digital muxes. In fact all the muxes are out of range for your present aerial, you're fortunate you are getting at least some of them. You should also consider getting the downlead replaced at the same time, with CT-100 grade. http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/tx_ea.html -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. Many thanks for all the responses. I was hoping just getting a small aerial from Argos would do the job ![]() Will get a wideband aerial and a new down lead. Andrew |

Two completely different broadcasting systems, possibly from different transmitters. Definitely from different transmitters. Possibly from different masts/sites. I used the term 'transmitter' in its lay sense. To most people Crystal Palace is a transmitter, whereas you and I know there are a great many different transmitters contained in the building. I know you know that. Just as you know I was I was just being a Usenet pedant. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

Andrew 2006 wrote: Will get a wideband aerial do get a "branded" one. That is one where someone acknowledges that they have made it. and a new down lead. make sure there is plenty of braid. Some people swear by the type called CT100. It is rather stiff and needs care when installing round corners. Don't kink it.
