I was highly interested in proj until I read it cost more than $60 for
the bulb replacement. I think if you use it often enough the bulb
will blow and to be replaced.

Hi folks,

I finally found a true 1080 horizontal screen resolution HDTV rear
projection set based on the LCoS technology.
After an aggravating search of other companies trying to misinform the
public into buying sets that do not truly display
1080i resolutions (or 1080p signals for that matter), my search is over (for
now) ending with Toshiba's 57HL83.
Whew!
It is about $2000 more than I want to spend, but is the only 1080p RP set in
the world.

The only link I could find that has a price on it. Toshiba's site, for some
strange reason, does not even have this model on it!

I've also gone back to candles since I've discovered that if I use my lights
long enough they burn out!
Come on now. You get X number of hours out of a lamp, that's the cost of using
the projector.

It's here on their website -

Anyone know if this model will be released or available in the UK? We poor
*******s in Europe are getting our first satellite HDTV channel on the 1st
Jan - then maybe one or two channels in the following year if we're lucky.

Toshiba has halted production of their LCoS sets. They can't get any LCoS
chips from their supplier Hitachi.
