"loz" wrote in message ... "Ian" wrote in message ... In message , loz writes "The channel will launch on Freeview for the first time and will continue to be available to all cable and satellite viewers at no additional cost. On digital satellite, the FilmFour Channel will be available to freesat viewers as well as Sky digital subscribers." All this is saying is that Sky subscribers will not lose Film Four. I think it is saying, or trying to say a bit more than that. Clearly it is saying something about cost, and availability on Freeview and Freesat Loz It says something about the C4's marketing and public relations muppets that no one can understand what they write. |

I'll let you know what comes back. Our local Carrefour has FTA digital satellite receivers for just 37 Euros or just over twenty pounds! Just over twenty-five pounds, good value. Quite correct. So as usual C4 find it difficult to be precise about what they actually mean and the people who write such statements there would seem to still not fully understand the difference between FTA and FTV, or between Freesat, Sky, and Freesatfromsky. Not just C4. All the PR people in broadcasting (and Ofcom for that matter) seem not to know the difference between FTA and FTV and pay. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. I think you would be hard put to find anyone to supply and install a new dish and box for £75. I certainly wouldn't do it. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. Not just C4. All the PR people in broadcasting (and Ofcom for that matter) seem not to know the difference between FTA and FTV and pay. Ofcom knew enough to exclude FTA sets from the official statistics. Why the $DEITY is Ofcom allowed to compile them instead of ONS? -- MJR/slef Sat FAQ: http://mjr.towers.org.uk/blog/2006/astefaq |

Hmm. FreesatfromSky is €150 installed. I think you would be hard put to find anyone to supply and install a new dish and box for €75. I certainly wouldn't do it. It's not difficult to bolt on one dish and run a length of cable, while the nearby Sky installations look pretty shoddy and the in-laws Sky box seemed to be forever failing. No way is that install + C4/five worth an 80 quid premium. |
