Hilary is in hospital. She's been there for two weeks now. She picked

a while but now she's on the mend. It's astonishing that you can

the worst, but she's going to be convalescing for some time.

Glad to hear she is recovering.

The hospital has one of these TV systems where the patients have to pay
£40 per week. It's a total rip-off and I'm disgusted, and Hil
wasn't prepared to pay it. Even in extremis she was belligerent.
That's my girl! The hospital has banned patients' own TV sets and
removed the normal ward TVs, allegedly on safety grounds, but we all
know the real reason. It's the same with mobile phones. Security are
walking round with UHF handsets, the consultants are always on their
mobiles, yet the patients can't use theirs because 'it might upset
medical equipment'. ********.

******** indeed.
Take a tranquiliser and then read
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3932563.stm

Note the date of the report. Oh, it does mention security radios.

I never bothered with that. I discovered that if you wear clothes for
long enough, the creases caused by washing disappear.

An alternative for shirts is iron the collar and wear a jumper ;O)

Bugger. Hope she's better soon (otherwise you might knacker the
washing machine).

******** indeed. Our local hospital has,of course, banned mobiles. But
wait, what's that on the roof? A GSM transmitter, surely not.

A friend was in another hospital, same story. Except the nice nurses
said it was fine for him to use his mibile, as "all the consultants
do."

Best wishes to her for a speedy recovery.

The washing / drying contraptions can be very confusing I agree. I still
don't have a clue what to put the dial on, and I never know what all the
seperate bubble trays are for. I just fill them all to the brim with suds
and then twist the dial a bit.

I just stick a couple of tablets in a net & bung 'em in the big hole
where the clothes go in. I do mean washing tablets, not asprin :-).
Don't use the drawer thing.

As for drying, I don't have a tumble dryer. I have a retractable line
above my bath. There are communial washing lines outside but no one
uses them. That's why I don't use them.

I love living on my own. I can fart as much as I like :-)

Do you really think Bill is going to be satisfied with "pretty good"
picture quality? Even if his wife can't tell the difference?

That might be it, though I wouldn't swear to it. ;o)
