Always give it a good 2 minutes before putting it back on.

Sorry, it was unusually naive of me to suspect a system wide failure. I
did a much longer reset with power pulled out of the box and eventually
got my service back. Sorry for being a bit of an idiot.

Thanks to the responders.

Ian.

Ian, I had the same problem at the same time and a reboot solved it. Signal
was out for around an hour but switching off, waiting 5 minutes and
switching on again solved the problem.

Might be a coincidence but...

Why would the length of the downtime make a difference?

I lost a few channels briefly, but they came back without a reset.

Default It is ok!

Thanks all, guess the brain in the 'box overloads once in a while and my own
wasn't doing so well either. I have never had such a complete failure
before, here's hoping it ain't the beginning of the end for my Panny.

Hmmm. Does seem to. Residual memory or something. Apart from that, it cools
everything for once, I guess, as normally there is rarely an opportunity
for parts of the unit to sit there unpowered. Something like that! Anyway,
I've had no more problems so far.
