Can't say I've noticed the difference in Burn speed. I burn both +

Prefer - over + more reliable.

Well, I am mighty fed up of jitter already. I thought it might be with
using the new ridisk 8x but my son loaned me some datawrite 4x and
they will jitter too. It seems random and i can cause it by rewinding
and fast forwarding. It can also be stopped the same way. Do the
panasonics have jitter?

I haven't noticed any jitter.

Originally I bought a cheap Alba and it was not working properly. So I
took it back and got a more expensive one. I just don't think they are
very good for recording something quickly at the last minute. Insert
disc, wait 20 seconds or so for it to come off standby only to find that
the disc doesn't have enough space or whatever, erasing contents takes a
short while. Whereas with tape I can just record over whatever is on the
tape and not have to waste time deleting it.

....and then you find you didnt really want to do that :-)

comes up *Material is copy protected* or *cannot copy* (Unless I have my
Macrovision remover connected)

Macrovision remover? Where can I get one of these? I don't have
anough Scart sockets in my TV and have to keep unpulgging things as I
can't run my DVD player through my VCR.

Thanks.

You'll also have to bear in mind that some of the products won't work when
the digibox and DVD Recorder are set to RGB Mode.

The one Paul's pointed you to states it is fully wired so MIGHT work in RGB
(Though mine does'nt even though thast was advertised as fully wired)
Mines more a simple Scart to Scart plug with the Macrovision remover circuit
built into one end of one plug..and only £29.99 so probably the price
reflects the way it works too :-/
