In ,
The Wizard popped a head above the parapet and
announced forth in a bold strong and almost manly voice:

As for freezing,

Freezing? Hmm, I ust be one of the "lucky" ones then, I certainly do not
have any freezing on my digibox.

Give it time ;-)

4 or 5 years not long enough for you?

Ah so the clouds are black, There's a thunderstorm and you get a perect
picture...Hello Mr Jetson.

In all the time I have had Sky digital, I have only lost the picture twice
on my 45cm dish and once on my 65cm dish, and that was due to an
exceptionally heavy storm.

Snow

Not if it is aligned correctly

"You canne change the law of physics Jim" If a dish is theoretically
mis-shaped or buried almost in thick snow the picture will disappear.

Well I don't get that problem. And besides, what snow do we get nowadays? A
little flutter and it's gone next day

and bird **** on the LNB

Hmmm, I've had my dish up for approx 5 years now, and not one bird has
**** on it! Damn, I must be unlucky here then

Perhaps the birds are tidy where you are..or constipated?

Possibly

Heavy winds knocking your dish out

Not if it is fixed correctly.

Say that to the really strong winds, Eventually it will work the dish
loose
especially in a pretty high, open area.

I am 4 floors up my dish is still as strong and tight as the day I put it
up.

And a fortune for replacement boxes when they magically go faulty after
twelve months!

Never had any of my 2 boxes do that! 1 is 3 years old, the other (at my
ex-wifes) is 4 years old. Both still going strong.

There's always 1 ;-)

But it's true

I think you'll soon get used to the extra crap channels that sky throw
on
heir platform as FTA..

Sky do not "throw" those channels on there. They have to by law accept
these channels and allow them on their platform. They would get done my
Ofcom if they prevented them.

I doubt it, All the crap channels need to do is say "We are NOT paying to
be
on the EPG" So basically Sky shoves em' on to keep the channel count up
and
of course the revenue coming in.

No. They are an open platform, and they have to let any channel go on there.
As long as they pay Sky they will go on the EPG. But Sky have got to let
these channels go on there. They have no choice.

We need a good meteorite shower doing a bit of damage up there as
well..I'd
love to see Sky panic a while!

Panic they may when BBC/ITV freesat launches properly next year.

O-K as long you know MOST interactive services using the phone with

Sky are
chargeable!

As for freezing,You yet to come to terms with heavy rain,Snow and bird

****
on the LNB, Heavy winds knocking your dish out and so on.
Oh...And a fortune for replacement boxes when they magically go faulty

I think you'll soon get used to the extra crap channels that sky throw

on
their platform as FTA..I doubt anyone would actually pay for such

content.

The novelty soon wears off :-/

After over 3 years I am still watching my Sky with very little trouble.
I think that the worst problem I had was a major digibox crash when
switching it off and on at the mains didn't work, phoned Sky and they
said to do a 'new installation' which fixed it.
The novelty still hasn't worn off :-o))
Regards Mike.

Most "****" comes to my house via my LNB, not on it.

Dodgy boxes? I had the same Amstrad for 5 years and it still works
now.

They are more called dodgy-boxes because they have most of the functionality
of a proper receiver removed.
