Fwiw, the link I posted has a 350kbits/sec streaming speed, and the quality is very good here. As regards Sky, of course that is excellent quality, but here I have found that as well as the banner annoyance, it is also prone to interruptions, either by the Sky logo and music, or sometimes there is a break to other news feeds, then after a suitable delay back to the NASA stream..... All true. But, I want to be able to do other stuff, and 350K doesn't leave much spare. What I'd really like is a dish that can pick up NASA-TV direct. I might need a longish cable to a suitable point to place the dish though. |

The reply (hey! credit for replying) was that SKY is an open platform and it is up to TV stations to approach them to carry their channel; and that I should ask NASA to put NASA TV on SKY. Pete. |

Today, I watched Space Shuttle coverage on sky news multiscreen, and
the ticker stayed off. Maybe Sky have have at last noted viewers' complaints? Hopefully! |

Which isn't especially likely, as it's a public service channel, and gains no advertising revenue. And AIUI, NASAs mandate would not support this in general, for non-taxpayers. |
