Default VideoLogic STB at Tesco - badged GDB3?

Tesco have a box branded as VideoLogic which looks cosmitically like the new
style Goodmans GDB3 - priced at £34.99

I have bought one and it seems to perform very well - 7-day EPG and reports
100% signal quality on every channel whereas my Daewoo SetPal box used to
grumble a bit on some.

On the back it has 2 SCARTs, phonos, RS232 and UHF In and Out.

Xtraview displays a screen saying that I cannot receive the channel (not
that I want to), so I guess I don't have MHEG??? Press Red works on News24
though.

I would like a new box with 7 day EPG, but need s-video output and digital
sound output, does this box have these?

The output is switchable RGB and....something else I can't remember! - but
only on SCART. Audio out is on 2 phonos, so I assume it's analogue, but I'll
check the manual tonight.

Is the psu a wall-wart rated at 6v/1.5A ?

If so then its very likely a goodmans re-badge

Are we still talking about the GDB3? Because mine has no separate
power supply - just a lead to a plug to put in the wall socket. I
don't know about other Goodmans boxes.

And in answer to David's question, no the GDB3 doesn't have digital
sound outputs, and the TV scart is switchable between RGB and CVBS -
no s-video. But this is for a 'real' GDB3 - there's no guarantee that
a clone box will be identical (though I agree it's unlikely to be more
highly spec-ced).

Sorry I wasn't precise. I should have said GDB4, which has many clones.
It sounds as if it matches the details in
http://www.goodmansdigital.co.uk/Ins...Books/GDB4.pdf
The remotes and the PSU are a clear pointer.

No, it's like the GDB3 both in appearance and spec. The PSU is integral.

OK....some corrections...

The brand is "DigiLogic"
It is basically a GDB3 in a GDB2 box (the "cat's-paw" front, not the
mirrored one on the GDB3)
The price was 34.97 (not 34.99!)

Having used it over the weekend, I'd say it is superb value for money, with
faultless reception of Winter Hill from Preston using a wideband aerial in
the loft.

The only thing I'm puzzled by is why I can't get Xtraview. My Daewoo Setpal
box used to generate the viewer ID etc, but this just displays a screen
saying I am unable to view the channel. At the moment, that doesn't bother
me, but it's just possible that something I *do* want to watch might appear
in the future using the same access system (movie channel perhaps?).
