Default ITV News on Freeview

So when is it going to come back on, the screen says "early 2005" but we
are into February now so it is no longer early 2005?
Regards Mike.

Simply record the main ITV-1 news each day, and keep replaying it over
and over again, that's as good as having the ITV News channel.

It will be "earlier" in 2005 in some parts of the UK than others!

They are upgrading transmitter multiplexers on a regional basis. This
was scheduled to be complete (last time I look) by June.

Does anybody really care? In my experience, all they ever show is adverts. I
wonder why nobody has thought of 'staggering' the ads to try to hook people
who switch channels when the ads are on the channel they're watching.

They're in cahoots with each other, I think, as the commercial breaks always
seem to be synchronised.

This is especially apparent when in the US, where they have about 4 breaks in a
(supposedly) 30 minute program(me). Just note when they show that shot of the
apartment building in "Friends" - that represents when the Yanks have a
commercial break.

It seemed to be like that in Australia when I was there last too. Could
barely tell the programs from the ads. In Iceland, the adverts are very
strange, often extremely short and manic, and they seem to pop up out of
nowhere.

I have to say that I wouldn't know, as I haven't watched it for long enough.
I find sky-news pretty american with their rubbish 'brass eye' (or 'the day
today') style effects.

BBC news 24 is simple, plus with their text service it's easy to be updated.
I also find sky's presenters a bit smarmy, though there's one that's quite
amusing. ITV news is guff - utter.

The channel was pulled from the air in all regions outside of London back
in October 2004 so that ITV could launch ITV3 on the DTT platform
nationwide. Engineering work was needed so that the ITV News Channel could
fit on the network's DTT multiplex in addition to ITV3."

if this isnt proof of dumbing down i dont know what is.
"the channel was pulled from air in all regions outside london october 2004
