I was just telling Mr. TiVo to record Jerry Springer night on BBC 2
and while I was going through the TiVo EPG A programme was on on Sky
Travel and someone actually said the word "****" at 18:35. I even
rewound it to see if that's what he said and a gentleman was
describing how he insulted people that tried to kidnap him and he said
"**** you" to them.

Goodness me. What is the world coming to.

Tsunami's, famine and tasteless humour and now swearing at half past
six. I don't know how I will survive to my next birthday.

P.S. The only reason I'm watching Jerry Springer is because of all of
the fuss. Looks like an excellent programme, and with all of this
free publicity the beeb can't go wrong.

I watched battle star galactica last night (saturday) and at about 5:40
someone said "****ing". Throughout the series they have been saying
"phrack", but this one must have slipped through, wasn't one of the main
characters that said it though so maybe thats how they missed it.

I still have this episode on TiVo. Doctor Baltar definitely says "this
sounds fraking awful"[1] whilst listening to the battle just after one
of their fighters gets killed. I can't find any other references around
that time at the moment, but as it happens I have to watch this ep again
soon so I'll keep an ear out.

[1] I like to think it's a homage to the BBC Micro and Acorn Electron
game "Frak!", which played up the swearing joke.

ok, when they go to attack the mining base, one of the pilots fires her
missiles. The missiles are deflected straight up...have a listen to what she
says

Thanks for the bookmark. It could sound like either word to me!
I've uploaded the mpeg2 file and audio only he
http://www.mrtickle.demon.co.uk/usenet/

Is there a lip-reader around? The audio is too muffled for my liking.

definately a "****" and not a "phrack" to me

Sorry if I'm shattering your illusions here, but the BBC game (which
was frakking infuriating to play!) came after the original series of
Battlestar Galactica, where the swear word "Frak!" originated...
