Default Pace Twin - Argos returns?

I'm just coming up to 12months warranty on my Twin. When it works it's
bloody great and chase play features and excellent menu still seem to blow
the competition out of the water. However, we know the Pace still has it's
difficulties. After weeks of behaving itself just about, it went flaky on
me in the week, and then again a couple of days ago. A full reset seems to
have cured things, but I am wondering if this is genuinely the way to go on
when I could still take it back.

So, anybody took one back recently? were Argos happy to refund still?

What did you get instead? I have a Sony IDTV, so at the moment I'm
considering the 80 Gb Humax, the Thomson and the Fusion, probably in that
order. I'm a bit miffed that all these months on, there is little
competition and none seem to be working fully.

As I recall someone did take their Pace back to Argos, and got a
'percentage' returned.

I replaced my Pace in June with the Thomson, which has never failed me,
even when it appeared to crash. (A known bug)

There is an upgrade due 'before Xmas', which may explain why Dixon's have
increased the price from ??200 to ??250.

It's a bit acoustically noisy, but I think it's a better picture.
Have a look at:
http://dtt.opennet.co.uk/thomson.htm and
http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...=123718&page=1

82 pages btw!!

The Fusion is basically the same machine but with different menus.
