Is there a quick and easy way to test the phone connection from the box?

Dear $ky
I have had an unfortunate accident with my $ky card.
The dog chewed it / it got burnt / ??? / ??? /
Could I have a replacement please.

Now how does one ensure that the chip is trashed.

You'll never get to heaven!
Incidentally, why do people spell Sky $ky?

The same reason people spell Microsoft M$.

Because £ky would not have the same punch.

Because of all the money they grab off people & £ky doesn't look right
(in fact if you've got a US setup it will look like #ky) :-o)

A bit of advice. Don't plug it in

Great!
Then what do I do when I'm told there is no more credit/space on the

card?!

Simple. Don't support the PPV market. It's a rip-off anyway - the same
films are on the normal film channels a few months later, or available
cheaper for DVD rental with far superior picture and sound quality.

I think that $ky Box Office is £3.50 while my local DVD rental is £2.75,
as for picture quality and sound quality, there's no difference on my
setup (28" widescreen TV).
Of course with $ky Box Office you don't have to go out to get & take the
DVD back, so that's an advantage of $ky.
Regards Mike.

Yes, thanks, I've just found that and it tells me my telephone is connected!
Which it is but due to a lack of adsl filter it ain't useable!
I tried an interactive service and of course it can't dial out.

Well a lady in India (I'm guessing!) has told me my card credit limit is £55
so either I haven't used is as much as I thought or she is wrong! We'll
see...
Thanks for all the input everyone.

So it is cheaper then.

Of cause there is, DVD is far better quality than any digital transmission.

That is the only advantage.
The big problem with Sky box office and any P.P.V is that if you are
halfway watching it and you got to go out or the phone rings, then you
miss the rest and lose money, at least with a DVD you can watch it when
you come back home or get off the phone.
I expect you will say about Sky +, but that adds another £10 a month on
top of your subscription if you do not have any premium channels, and
after you paid the £200 for the box it gets a bit expensive.
