I ask because some of the channels on my Humax F2FoxT also only update a
few days ahead. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen all 7 days of the
EPG filled for all available channels.

So how do you persuade your Humax to show more?
--

I believe the FoxT is still waiting for an OTA update for the correct
functioning of 7 day epg... until then.....

Yes, I have heard this too, but my FoxT seems to be functioning as well
as the allegedly updated 8000Ts - 3 or 4 days on most channels, 7 on
some (mainly BBC) and a day at most on a few. So how does Steve O
persuade his to show a few more days?

It says this on their website. To me that means it has a 7 day program
guide...

What the equipment is *capable* of is not necessarily the same as the
information it is provided. The equipment may well be upgradable to a
7-day EPG, but unless the service operators provide and transmit that 7
days worth of information then it won't be available.

Does anyone with a fully working 7-day EPG box have a complete 7 day
schedule for all of the channels they receive?

8 days worth of program schedule for most of the channels. Some channels
don't provide any info (Bid Up TV, Price Drop TV, 701, 702, etc).

Oddly enough, the only channel I have 7 days of schedule information
displaying for just now is ITV News - despite the fact that it is off
air on Bluebell Hill at the moment. ;-)

Humax PVR8000T supports the EPG, though there may still be some bugs with
it - some channels don't go past 3 days without a little persuasion.

What form does this "persuasion" take?

Wafting the product guarantee in front of it...
a sharp talking to...
taking down the back of the bike sheds for a damned good kicking...
or something more subtle?

Some advise switching the box off and on (not from standby, or you lose
recording schedule), but I find that switching to the required channel then
returning to the Guide often works.

OK - I find that the longest sequences tend to be for the channels on
the mux I am currently tuned in to, at least after a few minutes, which
is probably similar to your "persuasion".

My Philips 1500 for example, the maker is refusing to upgrade these boxes.

My advice is unless you see the one you are to buy giving the 7 day EPG in
the shop DO NOT buy one

I'm also very annoyed that my philips dtr 1500 wont be getting a much-needed
software update, at the time it cost f*ing 90 squid; you'd think for the
profit they must've made on it they could just shove a software update OTA
for a few weeks. It's not even hard to create this DTT software for boxes,
any fool with minor programming knowledge could do it. Argh so irritating...

I was actually considering doing it myself, there's a serial port on the
back of the box for 'upgrading software' - and with the current EPG not
updating properly with the time, i'm very close to trying to DIY/M

By the way, on the philips website it states 'philips DTR 1500/1505'

Maybe the planned 1505 model was-to/will support 7day epg

Yikes there be a flood of people coming your way, all eager beavers.
