It really depends if you can get good Freeview reception.
If not the extra Beeb channels are IMO well worth GBP 20.

But the only thing is you don't have to pay 20ukp to get the BBC
channels, I get them already on DSAT for nothing. Well I have to pay the
TV licence fee obviously.

Christmas has come early for you ;-)

671 GOD Channel FTA
672 GOD 2 FTA
673 Wonderful FTA
674 TBN Europe FTA
676 revelation FTA
677 UCB TV FTA
688 GayDate TV FTA

ITV3 is FTA so I don't want to see this change to FTV!

That is true, the only channels the FreeSat card is for are, ITV1, Ch4 and
Five, all the other non subscription channels are FTA so no card required.

Do I take it from

"We can even normally connect your equipment to your phone line at no extra
cost so you can enjoy more of the interactive services on offer."

that you *have* to have your phone connected?

No it does not need a phone line,.
But, $ky want you to have it connected so that they can get some more
*money* out of you.

Has anyone worked out what Sky do with their (usually compulsory) phone
connection? Do they analyse your viewing habits?

No analysing of viewing habits, though they are planning to offer incentives
for people to allow there viewing habits to be analysed.

So why do they (usually) insist on a phone connection?

ITV3 is fTV at the moment, not sure how long it will stay like it.
But to be honest, this is not a good deal, unless you can not get Freeview.

£150 for a load of junk channels, I hate to say this, but Freeview looks
good compared to this Freesat thing, at least you got ABC1, FTN and ITV2
extra, ok, so these channels are not fantastic, but together they are
still better than anything that is on Freesat, apart from the standard
channels of cause.

I think give it a little bit of time, ITV1 and ITv 2 will be FTV. Ch4
and Ch5 may be a lot logner as they just renewed their contract for Sky.

If you want digital T.V and you can get it, go for Freeview, it is
cheaper than Freesat, if you got the aerial up and better value, also
you will not get Sky onto you all the time to subscribe
