Reports on the Digital Spy forums say Cartoon Network is broadcasting. If
you've got your card you can watch.

There's only so many 'classic' turner movies they can show, to be fair.

TCM being free wouldn't be fair in my personal opinion, so they've obviously
set a charge which represents a rate that people are willing to pay if they
wish to subscribe to watch older films.

It also used to be free on analogue Sky (until June 2001) as did
Boomerang (until April 2003) and TCM (until Jan 2004), does paying for
it make them any better, well as far as I can see NO, TCM still breaks
the films up to put adverts in and they still seem to be showing the
same films over and over.

Why can't a channel be funded by EITHER adverts or subscription, it
can work in other countries, there are dozens of free channels in
Germany and some channels in the US such as HBO don't have advert
breaks .... when a channel used to be free and is now pay wouldn't it
be fair to expect some improvement less adverts or better programmes

A channel can be, which is why we have 3, 4 and 5... i'm saying TCM isn't
viable, it's turner classic movies, very specific - TURNER classic movies...
if it was 'free-movies' channel with a variety of content catering for all
tastes and a 'new' channel for freeview then let it be free, but specific
channels like TCM, E4, film-four, [the list goes on] will remain pay-for due
to their specific content.

Be patient, one day very soon we'll have a set of channels that will cater
for all taste, but not too many. Look at America is all i feel should be

I recorded one the other night and there were no breaks. Usually there
are but very few.
