"Mike Henry" wrote in message ... In , "loz" wrote: "Mike Henry" wrote in message . .. It is a common misconception, but there is in fact no time limit on how long you make keep recordings you make for timeshifting. Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 Section 70, "Recording for purposes of time-shifting." http://www.hmso.gov.uk/acts/acts1988...n_4.htm#mdiv70 Well I don't see how that clears things up. It seems to totally YOUR interpretation that their is no time limit. Eh? There is no time limit for timeshifting, as I quoted. It's not my interpretation, it's quite clear because a time limit is not specified in the Act! But that's exactly my point. There is no mention of time. Hence you have interpreted that as there is therefore no time limit. Whereas I was just saying that because the act also says "at a more convenient time", then a lawyer might argue that this does imply a time limit, as clearly 10 years later is not "at a more convenient time". And hence why because of such opportunity for interpretation, lawyers earn a fortune arguing that black is indeed white. Loz |
