Sliding way off topic here - does the Pout method still work?

Has anyone got a good tip on the cheapest 'pout'able channel?

Thanks,
Max

We have had this discussion before but I'm glad that you seem to be coming round
to my way of thinking regarding Sky claims.

I'm not aware that I have changed my position on this. I have long
maintained that Sky either lie a lot or are just extremely
incompetent.

Given that new FTV cards will be available in a few days it doesn't
seem very important any more.

Also it seems that these new FTV cards will all be potential
subscription cards that could be activated for Sky packages or
stand-alone channels.

Wasn't that always the case? The cards have always been physically identical. I
remember being surprised when I got my first free BBC card that it was a Sky
card & not a special BBC card.

Normally the latter I think. Given their subscriber base they must have an awful
lot of people working in their call centres (I think I've seen the figure of
6000 operators). Hardly surprising if some of them are idiots.

It has never been possible to activate "real" BBC or the £23.50 FTV
cards for pay use. Sky always maintained that they couldn't even
access the card/user details on their computers in order to change ITV
region for example.

My FTV card had the ITV region changed. When I got it, it had Meridian and
BBC SE, then one day 103 changed to ITV London all by itself. it was not
requested either.

Could someone have changed this on the box itself?

This is the assumption and the reasoning behind these T&Cs.

But is there any real legal meaning to the term "household"? I don't
think so. And does my signature really legally bind my un-named wife,
un-named children, and any other un-named people related or not and
living under my roof? I don't think so.

I guess that Sky can decide not to provide their service to anyone if
they choose to do so in the same way a shop can refuse to serve
anyone. It would only be illegal if it could be proved that they were
discriminating on the grounds of race.

They could indeed but the service isn't an issue here. We are talking
about the box/installation discount offer.

That was to do with the recent general change to some areas/postcodes.
Presumably it's the FTV card people who control this for FTV cards: in
theory they are still around to issue replacement cards in case of
faults. Or maybe Sky now does this.

No.
