No, I've read the article. The info box will only appear the first time you
switch the box on after plugging it in. It doesn't appear if you bring the box out of standby. They cannot keep this message on the screen at any other time. That would be illegal, and a company like Sky will be well aware of this, and wouldn't risk the controversy if they tried something funny. ADC |

The "second location picture format" setting looks interesting, but how
can the hardware implement this? Does it actually have a second video path to the rf modulator, or is it just a case of toggling the scart pins, rather than manipulating the image, as it does now... |

Please click on the links below to see further information on the changes (including images) taking place in March They all seem utterly boring and basically crap. How about improving the search facility so you can type in a name of a programme instead of just the first letter. How about being able to have information on a programme when you press the 'i' button as you flick through the programmes instead of it only being available on the current programme. Does anyone even use the interactive features, i've had Sky for years and cant remember using it once. |

And it will appear after every powercut, and every digibox crash/reboot, until someone is present to press "backup". Thus ruining up to a days' worth unattended recordings. A normal "autoview" recording in the PP will resume after a powercut I think, if you had a VCR that waited for the scart signal. It doesn't appear if you bring the box out of standby. They cannot keep this message on the screen at any other time. It has not stopped them before. They did it for the low battery warning until they changed the software. They did it for the people who had series 1 FTV cards on ITV with a message that kept reappearing. And they do it with red dots that keep reappearing. This is one more thing to spoil unattended recordings. -- Kill all Sky's red dots on TiVo! http://www.ljay.org.uk/tivoweb/ It's bad enough that it goes to ch 998 after a power cut or reset. But this is Sky were talking about, so nothing surprises me. -- Carl |

... ****ing hell: http://skydigital.mediabullet.co.uk/...page=newepg04e "From now on, when the digibox is switched on at the mains, a message will be displayed if the telephone line is not connected. The banner can be removed by pressing â?~back upâ?T, but will continue to appear whenever the box is powered up (it will not appear if the box is brought out of standby). In order to ensure that the message never appears, a telephone line needs to be connected." -- Kill all Sky's red dots on TiVo! http://www.ljay.org.uk/tivoweb/ What will happen if you power it up & it is connected to a phone line but the phone line's in use?
