Our innate sense of fair play and justice for all. (Providing they are true
Brits, of course, as a famous author would say.)

Anyway, who is this agent geezer somebody was on about? Did he have anything
to do with selling remainders of Jim Follett's books to
www.bibliophile.co.uk
, because if so, I've a bone to pick with him. I paid UKP 3 for a book a few
months ago and now there's another quid been knocked off it. (Still a bit
expensive though, IMHO.)

You will find the book here should you wish to help out a poor author who may
have been ripped off by an avaricious agent.
http://www.bibliophilebooks.com/cgi-...torefront/4018
ec240050a4dc273fd4f1ad3d069e/Product/View/42482

(You might have to cut 'n' paste that URL as me and Jimbo can't make them
short URL thingys 'cos we're getting on a bit and the technology is very
complicated. We are both what you would call silver surfers, you know, but
*demon* silver surfers which sets us apart from the others.)

Please note: The company called Bibliophile has no connection with Phil Kyle,
TTBOMK.

That's what you think ahahahaha! Now I'm going to knock another quid off
Jimbos book.

Did anyone else spot our very own James Follet in glorious
technicolour on Watchdog yesterday?

He was being described as "malicious" by a dubious publishing agent
who had taken his fee and then had him make numerous pointless
re-writes to a script that apparently had no real potential buyer. I
found this part to be unusual. Why bother stringing someone along when
you've got the fee anyway?

From the evidence given it didn't seem possible to say whether the
agent was really crooked (Watchdog rarely provides conclusive evidence
and often relies on the "I'm bigger than you" approach to naming and
shaming) but I was a little surprised that someone who has been around
as long as James should be taken in by one of these "pay a service fee
to get on my books" agents, be they of the literary or modelling type.

I suppose the only good thing about it was that the sum lost was
small. The wasted effort must have been much more galling.

Damn I missed it, I'd loved to have seen the ****** behind the words.

Did he keep correcting the interviewer's grammar, whilst making howlers
himself?

Yes, yes... this is where the cavalry goes rushing out...

You and you well the easy mornin'
rebel his heart with joy and gladness
I've lived too long as a joke
forever a spark.

Hopefully they won't come back. Can you imagine fatboi trying to get on
a horse? Someone call the RSPCA.
