Hi,
I have a Pioneer DVD player and there's an option to dim the display on the front of the player and even switch it off. I am sure I read somewhere that you get benefits from switching it off. Anyone know what sort of benefits you get by switching it off? If any. T.I.A. Steve |

IMO, the only thing you're likely to benefit from is increasing the life of the display, having said that my Pioneer 717's display is perfect even after thousands of hours of use (over a 5+ year period) and I've never used the dimming function. |

I am sure I read somewhere that you get benefits from switching it off. Some people say it effects the analogue audio sections. I've never heard the difference. But if you use the digital outputs (audio) then the only reason is cosmetic. I turn mine of because I never look/use the FP display, and it's distracting (esp blue DD LED, other bright LED/FL display etc) |
