However, the end user's bandwidth isn't the only consideration. You also
have to consider retention among newsservers. Text-only groups often have
lower capacity than binary groups, and sending a binary to a text-group
can expire useful posts more quickly than they would otherwise expire.


There are Google news archives dating back to 1998 from the archives

Actually Mr hi-n-mighty, I read every faq I could google and all of the
documentation on the javahmo site and it had no reference to concurrently
running localhosts. By trial and error I removed apache and easyPhP and
that cured it.

Now that you have brought the church lady into this conversation.
