Default bug: odd crashing of directv unit

I've found what appears to be a bug. The steps to produce it are
repeatable.

While watching a program, bring up the Info on a program, and press Select
to record it. Then go into the season passes and other options menu and
then into the view Upcoming Episodes screen. Select one of the future
episodes and record this episode. When it returns to the Upcoming Episodes
screen hit the Guide button and resume watching live TV.

Now, wait until the program ends and then bring up the list again by hitting
the Left Arrow on the remote. Use the left arrow again to back up one
level. BLAMMO, the Tivo will reboot.

This on an RCA DVR39 running 6.2-01-2-121.

I suggest calling up Tivo and/or DirecTV and telling them these steps.

TiVo doesn't provide phone support for DirecTV DVRs.
Here is the standard problem recovery procedure from DirecTV...

1. Leave the receiver box on.
2. Unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet. (If your receiverís light is still on, you have pulled the wrong plug.)
3. Leave receiver unplugged for 15 seconds.
4. Reconnect it to the electrical outlet and return to normal viewing.

.... end of procedure.

And entirely useless, the problem is consistently repeatable. Either right
away or after it's been running for many days. It's plainly just a software
bug. Neither DirecTV or Tivo have any sort of bug report web page.

You missed the final step...

5. Repeat 1-4 until you give up.
