Phone Line

I just purchased a Toshiba DVD & TiVo DVR. My question concerns the phone
line hookup. If I use the wireless Ethernet connection will this eliminate
the need for the phone line? The basic service comes with the unit an if I
have to use the phone line, does anyone know the approximate frequency and
length of the phone calls. I live in on of those areas the call is not toll
free.

Thanks in advance for any information you can share on the subjects. By the
way my wireless router is a Dell True Mobile.
