I suppose they could support both TIVO and NDS. I wonder what TIVO will do to fight off NDS? TiVo already has a much larger feature set. They're already working on a lower cost box for DirecTV, which will help them compete on price. And I suppose they could renegotiate pricing if NDS lowballs them. Possibly than the NDS box, yes, but some much sought after Tivo features (USB ethernet HMO namely), are not being enabled by DirecTV. Much sought after by who???? A few thousand geeks. As opposed to the millions of normal people that TIVO needs to stay in business. Even the TIVO execs don't mention that crap when they try to defend their product against the competitors. It's always, "season pass" or "keywords". Like there's no way around ther patents and even if there wasn't customers will be willing to pay a friggin thousand dollars to get them.
