Picked up a 30hr type 1 TiVo have it working ok over the phone connection
but wanted to check out the ethernet setup. Can't seem to be able to put in the ,#401 into the number for dialup. It comes up with preset numbers for dialing in. Any ideals would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Patrick. |

If it's version 3.0 or above, that should do it. http://www.9thtee.com/turbonet.htm The TurboNETTM card, is alive and well with the latest software release from TiVo for the standalone TiVo. Support for the TurboNETTM is now built-in to the TiVo software. Do NOT use the older installation procedures if you have 3.0. You do need a DHCP server running on your network, like the one that the Linksys router provides, and you must set the dialing prefix to ",#401" (without the quotes and this is entered with Pause Enter 4 0 1). Since 3.0 has built in drivers, you do not need to install any additional software to get updates over the internet. However, if you want telnet or ftp access to your TiVo, you will need to modify some files and install some software. Click here for instructions on getting telnet and ftp going with 3.0. Thanks in advance, Patrick. You put it in as the dialing *prefix*. -MZ, RHCE #806199299900541, ex-CISSP #3762 -- URL:mailto:megazoneatmegazone.org Gweep, Discordian, Author, Engineer, me. Thanks. Put ,#401 in dialing prefix but still didn't work. But opened it
up today to backup the hard drive and found the ethernet card cocked in its socket. Reinserted it and now works fine. Patrick |
