I have a Tivo Series II which has been working flawlessly for just
over 1 year and just now started acting up. My cable service is via Comcast (so I have a Comcast Digital Cable Box) and use Tivo's IR port and IR emitters to "remote control" the changing of the channels on the cable box. I cannot use the Serial port option because my Comcast box does not support such a connection. So, anyway, if I use the Comcast remote to change the Comcast Box's channel, I can dial any numbers via the remote including the number 6. However if I use Tivo to dial a number such as 162, Tivo thinks I have gone to 162 but the comcast box goes to 12 instead. The 6 seems to be skipped. This is not occassional...this is every time a 6 is entered. Also no other numbers exhibit this behavior, just the "6". So, presently Tivo cannot change the channel to any channel containing a 6 in the channel number. I have tried rebooting the Tivo, mucking with the IR Emitter and connection, but no-go. Any suggestions? It seems strange that a single digit (6) would fail to be transmitted properly when other characters work fine. - Denny |

You'll need to choose a new IR code. Thanks for the response. It sounds like a reasonable thing to try. I'm
away from my home at the moment so can't try the "fix" until tonight, but in the mean time I did want to mention that I did check the FAQ at Tivo and Tivo Commmunity but didn't find any info about this specific type of problem, but rather only about the loss or random digits or First digits.
