When I was fooling around with my IR emitter to get my Tivo working with RF
I accidentally discharged myself of static electricity on the outside of the Tivo case. The first thing I was said was crap(rated pg version), but everything seems to be working fine. I mean it should be designed so a static discharge on the case shouldn't harm anything right? Then again if the unit is not grounded all bets could be off... The unit was plugged in and running at the time. One thing I just realized, my Tivo is grounded through the coaxial cable hooked up to the input. The coax coming into the house is grounded on a water pipe. I should be OK right? More importantly Tivo should be OK yes? Who woulda thought I would become so attached..... |
