What needs to be done might be different for DirecTV v. Dish Network.

DirecTV will provide the HD CBS broadcast to those who live in
an area served by a CBS owned local affiliate.

There are two other needs... a High Definition satellite receiver
and a High Definition television set.

it's with Dirctv

so if I "move" to NYC (which is national I believe and O&O), I'll get
CBS-HD along with the NYC Locals...right?

You may have trouble finding a location for your dish in that NYC
apartment building. But Time Warner cable might offer CBS-HD. RCN offers
all HD locals but CBS. But yes, if you move to NYC, Philly, or a number
of other major markets (excluding Chicago I believe) you can get CBS HD.

I hope this is an attempt at sarcasm or humor...

You do get the significane of the quotes around "moving", right?

But Time Warner cable might offer CBS-HD.

That'd be an awfully long cable run, I believe, for someone served by
BellSouth...

See what happens when you don't emote. Confuses everyone.

Yes, but think picture quality, not cost of the cabling. Just piggyback
the cable on Amtrak's overhead wiring and you're set to go. I will now
emote :-)
