There was very little new material on BBC on Xmas day. The majority of
BBC
viewers are over 60.

I went for a couple of repeats where I hadn't seen them first time round.
And the Queen, of course.

why of course?

it would be the first program in the schedule that I would mark down to miss
and I am not a "republican"

The fact that you feel the need to question the tastes of others, your
general sentiments, and your spelling of 'programme', tell me a lot
about you.

As do you.

your general sentiments

And yours.

and your spelling of 'programme', tell me a lot

Chambers Dictionary gives it as an alternative spelling.

Only for the alternative meaning, and for the US.

I bet we don't show in the BBC's viewing figures because of the way we
watched most of the BBC's Christmas day programmes on Boxing day and the
day after.

That's what the 'consolidated' figures give. The viewers panel BARB
uses takes timeshift (PVR) and streaming (iplayer) into account.

Brian, there was almost nothing worth watching on terrestrial tv
on Christmas day this year.

What was extra-terrestial TV like?

Ignoring the facetious aspect, there was a time when TV channels were
either terrestrial or satellite, so 'terrestrial' was a convenient and
meaningful term. That is no longer the case.

Apparently the lowest ever recorded for 15 years.
Now what is not clear on the item I heard on the radio is whether it
covers.
People time shifting stuff as most things are on at once
People who are viewing online.
Also they say the most watched program was the Queen.
Ironic as its recorded before the day of course, but as its short is
probably why they watched it, then back to their facebook and x box.
There are these days so many ways to use your time and so much crap TV that
I find it rather un surprising that the TV was not watched as much.
