Haunted telly

Blaupunkt 43/1370-WB-11B-FEGU less than 3 years old. Okay, it was cheap.
No matter what settings I try on the Time settings it keeps turning on in
the evenings. Usually at 9pm, now it seems to be liking 7pm. The Time
settings are all turned to Off.
I have RTFM which is useless. It's no big deal but if anybody has got any
suggestions?

A mains filter perhaps. Take it to another house and see if it does it?

Yes, but that is not the point of his post. it sounds like the thing is
responding to a signal. One assumes the remote is not anywhere near it and
has a n intermittent fault?
Also another remote for something els might be affecting it, is it wireless
or infra red?
If the latter put all remotes into a bag out of the way for a day or two
when not in use, if the fault goes away, its the remote, if not its
something either wrong with the tv or its mains borne interference doing it.

The reported issues do not apply to my set and I'm very wary of messing with
it.

The remotes are on the TV stand by the telly. I've put them in a tea towel
away from the telly.
Thanks for the suggestion.
The guarantee ran out 3 months ago. If your suggestion does not work I'll
email Blaupunkt support and see what they have to say.
Perhaps I should have done this in the first place, but the telly and the
stand are pain to get behind to see the serial number. Done it and cleaned
out all of the dust and £50 notes.
