Default Slow Guide

Group,
I am an escapee of Dish Network.I had seen so many articles
about tivo that when we moved,I signed up for the cheap tivo
HDR2.It was a great deal at 99 bucks with a rebate,even cheaper.I like many
of the features that Dish PVR did not have. That said,is there something
wrong with my tivo? The guide is so slow that it cannot catch up with
itself. My cousin has normal DTV and the guide goes about as fast as my old
Dish receiver.Slow but adequate.Perhaps my unit is broken in some way.I'm an
incurable channel changer, much to the chagrin of my wife,so this is a good
thing in her eyes, but not mine.It also makes an annoying sound everytime I
do anything with the remote.I looked a bit through the guide tonite, but have
not found yet how to turn it off.
The dual tuners are awesome,as is the season pass feature.Search is better
as well.I cannot though ,find any channel with ST Enterprise with the search
feature so ,I can season pass it.I cannot find any WB?UPN channels. Are they
available to everyone,or only to certain areas?,
Thanks,Adysthemic

Why not set it to record several shows you like on a repeating
basis and then watch those shows instead of surfing? Isn't that
why you got a recorder? I'm just wondering. Most people stop
surfing live TV after using TiVo for a couple weeks. Not totally,
but mostly. (Many do quit surfing altogether, however.)

It's in there. Look under Messages & Setup, then Preferences, iirc.
Reading the manual is always a good idea, of course.

Those are "local" channels in most areas, so it does depend on
your area as well as what local packages are available to you.
You might also consider setting up a Wishlist, if only for a minute,
to check for all shows with the word "enterprise" in their title to
be sure it isn't one somewhere on your current lineup.

Change the style of the guide to the Tivo style instead of the DTV style
with colored blocks. Go to the guide and press the info button. I think
you can change the style from there. The Tivo guide is more convenient
and much faster, although if you hold the channel down button for an
extended period to skip a lot of pages, you'll still see a bit of a
delay as Tivo tries to catch up. But if you page one or two at a time,
it can keep up nicely.

Just change this is the perferences. I hate it too and turned it off
the first day.

ST:Enterprise is on your local UPN station, not WB. Did you order the
local channels package in your area? UPN and WB are not offered in all
areas. Do you see your other locals?
