I just got a new Sony STRDE895 reciever to replace my aged Pioneer VXS9300S.
Unfortunately I can't get any of the codes presented by Tivo for Sony recievers to work with the volume buttons or the mute button. Does Tivo ever produce updated Peanuts that have newer remote codes in them? I know that I true universal remote is an option, but for the most part the Tivo remote is what I prefer to use. |

Understood, I was trying to diagnose the problem and was curious if the TV part of the remote still funcioned as you would expect. It can't adjust the volume or mute the volume on my new receiver, despite trying all of the Sony remote codes in the Remote setup. I understand this as well, consider this my post stating how cuirous it is that my reciver, although slightly older, is part of the same model line (actually the 900 series is, well 1 up but mine is older) the remotes back then were exactly the same and in fact I later bought a SONY 300 CD player with the more expensive remote and it controlled my Reciever out of the box. Sorry I guess I cant help, just surprised that sony would change it. -- David | AGM Favorite Games - http://tinyurl.com/loec You can never trust a woman; she may be true to you. |

I guess the solution to this, according to what I've read, is to switch the
reciever's IR coding from AV2 (the default setting) to AV1. Apparently AV1 is a more common IR coding that Tivo remote will work with. I haven't verified this, but I've seen a couple of google posts that suggest this can work. |

I am having the exact same problem because I too just upgraded my ols
Sony receiver. I LOVE the peanut and want to stick with it! Is there any way of getting it to control the new Sony receivers, or any reason to expect TiVo to put out newly coded peanuts? Is this somehow related to Sony trying to get people to buy Sony TiVo players? "Shawn Barnhart" wrote in message m...
